You’re used to making raclette and fried burgers for your evening meal, maybe it’s not a good idea. Certain foods in particular can disrupt our digestive system and compromise the quality of our night’s rest. Here are some foods to avoid before going to sleep.

In France, we are very fond of cheese. However, we should reserve this little pleasure for lunch, because consuming it in the evening can have consequences on digestion. Raclette, Comté, Saint-Nectaire contain a lot of fat and cause an inflammatory reaction in the stomach overnight. Cheeses also contain tyramine, a molecule that can reduce the production of sleep-regulating hormones.

Choose dishes such as raclette, fondue or tartiflette for lunch. We limit ourselves to a portion of 30 g maximum in the evening and we choose lower fat cheeses such as fresh goat, cow or sheep cheese.

They are excellent for giving energy during the day, especially if you have to practice a sporting activity. They are difficult to digest and can delay sleep. In addition, they are rarely eaten plain, the sauce and cheese will also complicate the process.
