Two categories for a championship open to amateurs and professionals
For this second edition, the World Cuisines of the World Championship offers candidates to compete in two categories:
• “World cuisine” category: open to professional and amateur cooks with a link to Seine-Saint-Denis and who, as a duo, will offer a dish highlighting the diversity of cuisines present in the area. The President of the jury for this category is Ranwa Stephan, creator of the “Les Délices de l’Ogresse” cannery in La Courneuve.
• “Cooking and creation” category: a duo made up of an artist and a professional cook with a link to the territory will have to make a dish from products made in Seine-Saint-Denis by associating an artistic approach. The President of the jury for this category is the recently starred chef Camille Saint M’Leux of the Villa9Trois restaurant in Montreuil.
For each category, candidates must use at least two ingredients made in Seine-Saint-Denis in their recipe.
Applications and stages of the competition
Applications are open online until June 19. The files to be completed by the candidates are available on the In Seine-Saint-Denis and Parti Poétique websites.
They must then be sent to the dedicated email address [email protected]
A first selection will be made on file from photos of dishes and presentations sent by the candidates.
A maximum of six duos per category will be selected for the semi-finals which will take place on July 1 as part of “Multitude”, the intercultural Biennale of Seine-Saint-Denis. At the end of this stage, up to four duos will advance to the championship final to be held on September 9. These two stages will take place at the Zone Sensible urban farm in Saint-Denis and will be open to the public.
