A weekend for the twins

During this Ascension weekend, the twinning and international friendship committee and the municipality of Ingré receive at the same time, and for the first time, two delegations from its twin towns: Drensteinfurt and Castel Maggiore.

Arrived Thursday evening by coach and minibus from Germany and Italy, the two delegations were welcomed at the Rotonde by Christian Dumas, Mayor of Ingré. After the pairings with the host families and the presentation of the activities planned in the program of the stay, they were invited to share the glass of friendship followed by the traditional distribution of gifts.

A visit to Cheverny, Saturday

The stay began yesterday morning with the inauguration at 9 am of the pedunculate oak sign planted in front of the cultural space, a tree donated by the City of Drensteinfurt and its twinning committee. After the projection of a film presenting the City of Ingré, the delegations then divided up, for a time of exchanges, into thematic groups (sport, culture, social, sustainable development, education).

On the program yesterday afternoon, the guests were able to enjoy a walk in the alleys of Orléans and a boat trip on the Loire. To end this first day, a shared meal at the Rotonde awaited them with a pig on the spit and an evening hosted by Les Copains d’Sabord.

Today, after breakfast in the host families, visit the Château de Cheverny, its gardens and the exhibition “Les secrets de Moulinsart” then picnic in the gardens of the château. On the way back, the inauguration of the entrance panels of the City is planned with the elected officials and the members of the various twinning committees.

The day will end with the opening of the exhibition of works from Drensteinfurt, with the artist Klaus Koesters, at the Lionel-Boutrouche cultural space. The official speeches of the three mayors will take place at the start of the dinner.

The signing of the twinning oath took place on May 14, 2011. Drensteinfurt is a town located in the district of Warendorf, in the district of Münster. It has 15,000 inhabitants. Carsten Grawunder, re-elected on 1 er November 2020, is the mayor. The twinning oath was signed in Ingré on May 9, 2019 on Europe Day. Belinda Gottardi was there.
